GURGAON: A Gurgaon-based construction firm is facing police action after it failed
to get two of its Nepali servants verified. The duo got away with Rs 12.77 lakh cash after serving the three employees of a construction firm drug-laced food on Saturday night. The three victims had absolutely no clue about what happened. It was only after another employee, Kuldeep, reached office on Sunday that the theft came to light.
To make matters worse, the construction firm now faces police action for failing to get the two Nepali servants verified. The incident happened at Flat No. 40 of Hewo Apartment.
The flat, according to the police, was being used as an office. The two servants, Deepak and Prakash, were employed by the firm a week ago.
Despite our efforts to increase public awareness on verification, the firm did not get the verification done. Now, they should also be ready to face action," said Gurgaon Police Commissioner.
According to the police, the two servants served Satpal, Amit and Anil some food. After consuming the food, the three men felt a bit giddy and went to sleep. The servants got away with the cash," said Sector-40 SHO Narender Sangwan. We have registered a case under Sections 381/328 of IPC against Deepak and Prakash. We have deputed a special team to search for the accused," said Sangwan.
Police said that they have no record of the two servants because the firm never bothered to get their identities verified. They did not even have the detailed address of the accused.
