NOIDA: A day after a 10-year-old boy was kidnapped from his house in Noida's Sector 12, The Times of Indiapolice are yet to trace the child or arrest anyone.
The police said Hrithik Singh, a student of Modern Public School in Noida, is the only son of Pappu Singh, the owner of a popular catering service. Singh has three daughters. The police said no ransom demand has been made yet.
According to H N Singh, SP (Noida City), Singh runs a successful catering business in the Z block of Sector 12. Singh stays in Sector 12 with his wife, son and three daughters.
The police said a former employee, Raju, called him up on Sunday morning and said he wanted to meet him. Raju, who had worked for Singh for three years, came all the way from Uttar Pradesh and had lunch with the family. In the evening, he took Singh's permission to take Hrithik out for a cold drink. "He has not returned since. Locals said they last saw the child with Raju and the duo headed towards Metro Hospital, said SP H N Singh.
The police said several teams had been formed to nab the accused. "We have registered a case of kidnapping at the Sector 20 police station since the child is below 14 years. Raju is a resident of Baliya in Ferozabad, UP. The local police there have been intimated and we are sending over our teams to nab the accused,'' said a senior investigating officer.
The police are also questioning the boy's family members. "We are looking into the circumstances which led to Raju leaving the job,'' said the officer.
