The boy was seeking admission in the reserved category. "He first went to the Arts faculty from where he was sent to the office of the dean, students’ welfare," said deputy dean, students’ welfare, Gurpreet Singh Tuteja. Tuteja added, "Our student volunteers realized that his marksheet was fake when his marks did not tally with those provided to the university by the UP Board." Without revealing the name of the boy, Tuteja added, "The boy had actually failed in his class XII exams but the marksheet showed that he had passed with a second division." According to Tuteja, suitable action will be taken against the boy. He said that other certificates of the boy have also been confiscated and he has been asked to return to the university on Monday. "This is probably the work of touts who are quite active during admissions these days. We urge candidates to not indulge in such malpractice as the colleges always have a way to find out whether the information provided by the candidate is correct or not," Tuteja said. |
