Four Arrested for Delhi Call Centre Data Theft

Biplab Saha, Ritesh Srivastav, Abdullah Aziz and Sandip Sharma were arrested for stealing data of Parsec Technologies Limited (PTL), a Delhi call centre in yet another incident of data theft at the fast-growing BPO industry.

The arrested four hacked particulars of loan seekers and their phone numbers. Police said due to the illegal procurement of data and subsequent sale to other interested parties, PTL lost at least Rs.33 million in revenues.

Bogus CVs Contain an Average of Three Lies

A study of more than 3,000 CVs submitted by candidates during 2004 showed that 25% of CVs in the financial sector contained false or incorrect statements. The study by employee screening firm, The Risk Advisory Group also showed that these incorrect CVs contained an average of three lies.

Checking references can help even after the person is hired.

It can help substantiate or nullify facts gathered in the interview. It can also bring new ones to light. Checking references can help place the proper interpretation on the information obtained, or lead to new understandings of the applicant. It enables for more objective appraisal.
